Will the fruit trees grow in my climate?
This will depend on the tree you purchase and the climate where you intend to plant it.

We specialise in both Tropical and Sub-Tropical fruit trees and so we have trees to suit pretty well the entire east coast of Australia.

Climate can vary dramatically from place to place and so we encourage everyone to do their own research and make sure that the trees you wish to purchase will grow well in your climate.

How do you recommend planting and looking after the trees?
Each tree will have a unique set of preferences and so it is hard to give general planting advice.

Please do independent research into the exact fruit trees you want to grow. However I recommend you give all plants some shade for the first couple years. This is done in order to mimic its natural forest environment and foster healthy plant development.

Once the fruit trees start to mature shade can be reduced so that trees can get more sunlight and hence better fruit set. Make sure to check the sunlight requirements of the plant your purchase on the product page. Most fruit trees require well-draining slightly alkaline soil.

So it’s best to plant into free draining soil or plant up in mounds if waterlogging is an issue. Soil under grass is very often slightly acidic and so to increase the PH and make it more ideal for most fruit trees, dolomite or lime can be added. This ensures that the fruit trees will be able to absorb maximum nutrition from the soil.

How big will the trees grow?
Fruit trees vary in size dramatically but tend to average 3 to 15 metres in height when mature.

On the product page under each individual fruit tree we have listed its size. This should give you an indication to its full height at maturity.

Grafted and marcotted varieties also tend to be slightly dwarfed in nature. Another important thing to consider is that you can easily control the height of your fruit trees by pruning them. With most fruit trees this is recommended as it makes the trees smaller and hence fruit much easier to harvest. Pruning can actually help to increase the productivity of the area.
