About AGRECO Farm
AGRECO Farm is one of Australia's largest and original Tropical Fruit Farms.
Around 45 years ago, two pioneering farmers travelled back from South-East Asia inspired by the exotic fruits they had discovered. Armed with seeds from these unusual fruits they began setting up Australia's first commercial tropical fruit farm.
And now for more then 40 years this place has been a commercial producer of Mangosteen and Rambutan.

Our nursery and farm is located in the heart of Tropical Far North Queensland and is currently home to around 60 different species of Tropical Fruit.
Our Goal
Our goal is to regenerate and diversify the old orchard, transitioning it into a Syntropic fruit farm and botanical collection.
Our niche
We specialise in growing Exotic Tropical & Sub-Tropical Fruit trees.
We do not grow citrus, avocado, mango, papaya & Banana in our nursery. Instead we focus on the lesser known exotic fruits that have enormous potential and are massively under rated.
These mainstream fruit trees are already very well known and available. And so we focus on the less well known RARE & EXOTIC fruit trees as a way to bring something new to the table.

Our Mix
All our plants are grown in a unique custom blend of coconut coir & sand based potting mix.
We find this mix is the most ideal medium for healthy root development here in our climate.
The coconut coir ensures that the mix both retains moisture, whilst the sand based potting mix helps to increase drainage and so ensure healthy aerobic conditions.

We do our best to look after each and every plant in our nursery.
By keeping a careful eye on their needs we ensure each fruit tree has just the right amount of water, sunlight and nutrition for its place in time.
